How to use
Which soap dish suits your solid soap?
Grooves, grid or loofah? The deciding factor is that your soap bar does not lie in water and the tray fits your wash area.
A soap dish should look nice. In everyday life, however, its main job is to let the soap dry. It is worth taking a look at the underside, not just the color.
Three things you can look out for
- Distance: Grooves or a grid raise the bar off the wet base.
- Drainage: Water needs a way out. You have to empty a closed dish.
- Size: The soap should lie securely without covering the entire tray.
The material alone is not decisive
Wood and bamboo also need drying breaks. Ceramic is easy to wipe down, but can form a small puddle if there is no drain. A loofah tray must be rinsed and dried thoroughly. None of these are completely maintenance free.
In the assortment, you will find, for example, the beech wood soap dish and a bamboo soap dish with a grid. Check the shape and dimensions before you choose.
In the right place
Test the dish where you want to use it. Does it slip when you grab it? Does water run onto a sensitive surface? Is it in the splash zone? Sometimes it is enough to move the dish a hand's width. That is often more helpful than a new model.
